Monday was a Monday! Nothing exciting happened. But I did get a great picture of Cullen!
Tuesday was super busy though! After work I met Jenny for coffee! Since she is nursing an injury we haven't been able to run together. So I've missed her! A Starbucks coffee date was just what we needed! And my favorite barista made me a Trenta frappuccino again! :-)
After the boys got home from school I drove Hayden and his friend Maddy to art class. Then Sawyer and I walked from the art center to a local bookstore with friends. The authors of the Pete the Cat books were there! We got to meet them, buy the new book, and get it signed! Pretty cool!
After the book signing we walked back to the art center just in time to pick Hayden up! He had made a sculpture of our cat Cullen using newspaper and masking tape! Pretty awesome!
We came home for about 5 minutes and then it was time to head up to the boys' school for Open House! Hayden had some great "About Me" things hanging outside his classroom! Both boys are doing great in school!
After Open House we were starving! We went out to dinner with our friends Kirstin, Jim, Maddy, and Kirstin's parents.
Wednesday was pretty busy as well. It started early that morning. It was Walk to School Day so I walked to the meeting place with the boys. They were so excited! Hayden was also starting run club that afternoon!
Jenny texted me later that morning to inform me that it was National Frappe Day! So of course we had to meet at Starbucks after I got off work for a frapp!!! And Jenny's daughter Lily came too!!!
Then Sawyer got off the bus and an hour later it was time to pick Hayden up from run club. He LOVED it! And this mama is so happy! Then about an hour and a half later I took Sawyer to gymnastics. Whew! Busy!
Thursday I took off a few minutes early from work. Sawyer had been complaining of his ankle hurting all the day before. And he was limping on it all day. He woke up that morning and was still limping. So off to the doctor we went. This roadrunnergirl doesn't play with injuries! Luckily it was just a sprain but he has to wear a light supportive brace for the next few weeks. After the appointment I needed some coffee! So I grabbed a Toasted Graham Latte....my new favorite hot drink at Starbucks! If you haven't tried this one...it's a must! Try it soon because it's a limited fall drink!
Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I had some great runs this week. But I lowered the mileage some. My legs were pretty sore from my 12 mile long run this past weekend. I knew I needed to let them recover some so I took it easy. Plus I want my legs fresh for my next half marathon in less than 2 weeks!!!!
- Friday- #plankaday 2:10, 2.12 mile run in 17:16 average pace 8:09
- Saturday- 12.06 mile run in 1:43:32 average pace 8:35
- Sunday- 3.12 mile run in 25:54 average pace 8:17
- Monday- #plankaday 2:05, 1.62 mile run in 13:19 average pace 8:14
- Tuesday- #plankaday 2:05, 1.76 mile run in 14:23 average pace 8:11
- Wednesday- #plankaday 2:07, 1.78 mile run in 14:24 average pace 8:06
- Thursday- #plankaday 2:05, 2.06 mile run in 16:50 average pace 8:11
My runs were great this week but my legs were pretty sore and tired the first few days after my 12 miler. I'm really trying to play it smart and listen to my body and when it needs rest as a run streaker. I know running those lower mileage days really helped my recovery!
This weekend is the final weekend before my next half marathon! We have 6-8 miles on the schedule. It is officially TAPER TIME!!! I'm super excited about my next race...and girls weekend!!! It's going to be a blast!
Happy running and happy weekend!!!
