This week was a taper week! 6 miles was on the schedule! I love being able to take my training slow and have taper runs in between the longer runs. As a run streaker I think it helps me recover well.
I couldn't run long on Saturday since I was heading to the beach early to watch my friend Paige finish her triathlon and then get married at the finish line. So I decided to run on Sunday instead! My Sole2Soul Sisters created a route and Jenny and I decided to run with them!
It was an early wake up for me...at 4:30 AM. We all needed to be finished running in time to get ready to go to church that morning.
But we woke up to some pretty amazing weather! The temperature was 57°!!!! That is the perfect running temperature!!!
Jenny and I started running and it felt amazing! The cooler temperature really made a difference! We talked and talked and talked and before we knew it we were halfway finished! I mean...this run FLEW by!!! We had an option to stop for some water but we decided to just keep going.
It was super dark our entire run so we didn't get to watch the sunrise while we were running. It had just started to rise when we were finished with our run.
We finished strong! We even decided to go ahead and run 6.2 miles since we were so close! (When I'm that close to a 10K I can't NOT run it) We were both happy with an average pace of 8:51!!!
Jenny and I went for a short walk after our run. Then we headed back for some water. And of course we took selfies too! Apparently we are not good at selfies in the dark lol! But we had fun trying!
Luckily one of my Sole2Soul Sisters helped us out and took a real photo of us!!!
And it is always fun when your friend wears the same runningskirt as you!!!
It was a great run! One that Jenny and I couldn't believe was over so fast! The weather was just amazing! I'm so looking forward to cooler running weather!!! Hopefully it will be here to stay soon!
After church that morning I went home and did some recovering. I put on my CEP compression socks from my #TrainingRockBox from Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series! I LOVE the blue and they felt like heaven on my legs! I enjoyed sitting outside on my porch with my compression socks on and the amazing weather!
QOTD: What is your favorite running temperature?
