On Saturday I ran the Road Shark 5 Mile Virtual Race by GoneForARun.com! I LOVE these virtual races by GoneForARun.com! The swag is always awesome! And the medals are great too!
This time I would be running solo. So I mapped out a route I hadn't run in awhile.
I walked out my front door ready to run. I immediately noticed that it wasn't as humid as normal. I looked at the weather and the humidity was only 70%!!! What??? That's unheard of here on the Gulf Coast in the summertime! It's usually 100% humidity! I had a feeling this was going to be a good run!
The first mile I got to enjoy the sunrise! It was beautiful coming up over the trees and the corn field!
The run was feeling great! I was enjoying the sound of my feet hitting the pavement. It was just me and the road....and a few cars here and there.
I reached mile two and got a text from my hubby that said: "I'm not with you, but I'm with you. Hope it is great!" So sweet! He knew I wasn't real thrilled about running a longer run by myself. Once I was out there I was fine though. And that text kept me going!
I enjoyed the run and the scenery around me!
And before I knew it I had reached mile 5! I was done with the race...but I wanted to keep going! So I decided to go for a 10K! It was only another 1.2 miles! So that's what I did! It was great!
I was an official Road Shark!!! Whoop!
I got home and the hubby awarded me my medal! I wish I could get a medal for all my long runs lol!
Another fun virtual race is in the books!!!
