Since I run every day I have to think about sunscreen. I especially need it in the summertime when I am usually running after the sun is already out.
Sun care is so very important since skin cancer is so prevalent in our generation. The sun is the leading cause of premature aging and skin damage. So I definitely want to take care of my skin now that I am an adult. I will admit that I didn't take care of it like I should have when I was in my teens.
When Block Island Organics contacted me about reviewing their sunscreen I jumped at the chance! I'm always on the look out for sunscreen that will protect my skin well while I'm running AND while I'm playing! They sent me their Natural Mineral Sunscreen that has an SPF of 30.
Some facts about this sunscreen:
- Free of parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates, gluten, dyes and artificial fragrances
- No animal testing
- Gluten & nano free, vegan formula, eco-friendly (no ingredients shown to harm reefs)
- Organic and only natural ingredients- zinc only
- Ultra lightweight and non-greasy formula that can be worn under makeup
I love all those facts! But the true test would be using the sunscreen.
I used it several times while running. It didn't come off while I was sweating. This is a relief since some sunscreens I've tried in the past came off when I sweated and got in my eyes. Ouch! I was thankful this one didn't do that.
I also used it while swimming at the pool and all day beach trips.
The sunscreen is lotion based. It was very easy to apply. It went on very smooth and rubbed in very easily. It wasn't too thick.
The best part...it did its job! Each time I used it I did not get sunburned!
I would trust this sunscreen on my children as well. It worked that well for me!
