Fitness Friday...January 30th Edition!

Can you believe that the month of January is over??? It feels like Christmas wasn't that long ago. I can't believe we are about to be in the month of February! Crazy!

This week went by pretty fast for me for some reason. I was super tired Monday and Tuesday from my weekend in New Orleans. I think my body finally started to catch up around Wednesday!

This week I got new running shoes!!! It was definitely time for some new ones especially after Sunday's half marathon! I always love the first run in new shoes! And I LOVE my Asics GT 2000 2's! There is a newer model out now but these were on sale so I bought them instead. I've had this color before and loved it! And yes those are Lock Laces on my shoes...I actually took them off my previous pair so they are kinda dirty but they still work! I LOVE not having to tie my shoes!


This week at school was Once Upon a Time Day where the kids (and teachers) all dress up as characters from Fairy Tales or Nursery Rhymes. I'm a teacher assistant in the two year old class on Tuesdays and Thursdays so yesterday my co worker and I dressed up! Do you know who we are???


My co worker is the "Old Lady that Lived in a Shoe that had so many children she didn't know what to do!" And I'm one of her children! ;-)

And yes...she's totally threatening to whip me with her wooden spoon in this picture! She had too much fun with that spoon all day lol!


Today I'm dressing up with two of my preschool (4 year old) teachers! We are dressing up as the "Three Blind Mice!" I'll share pictures with you on Monday! :-)

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! Although my legs were sore from my half marathon on Monday and Tuesday by Wednesday they felt much better. And my runs felt great this week! I even hit day 250 of my run streak yesterday! How did I celebrate? By running 2.50 miles of course! ;-)


  • Friday- #plankaday 1:15, 1.36 mile run in 12:04 average pace 8:53

  • Saturday- 1.36 mile run in New Orleans in 11:58 average pace 8:48
  • Monday- #plankaday 1:15, 1.36 mile run in 11:46 average pace 8:40

  • Tuesday- #plankaday 1:05, 1.37 mile run in 11:48 average pace 8:37

  • Wednesday- #plankaday 1:06, 1.37 mile run in 11:40 average pace 8:32

  • Thursday- #plankaday 1:32, 2.51 mile run in 21:07 average pace 8:25


Like I mentioned above, my runs were great this week...especially after the soreness went away! Since #RnRNola is behind me now it's time to start looking ahead at my next race....which is the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend!!! Super excited about this one! I'm running the Glass Slipper Challenge which means I'll be running the 10K on Saturday and Half on Sunday! I just found out my corral this week...I'm in C so come find me if you're there! :-)

I'm planning on an 8 mile run with Andria this weekend! Hopefully it's a strong run for the both of us!
