When and why did you start running?
I started running March 26, 2013
because I could no longer sit comfortably on the floor with my kids and
play. My body just felt big and yuck!
What is your favorite race and race distance?
I like the 10 mile distance but my
favorite race to date is the San Diego Women’s Half Marathon. The positive female energy is outstanding and
it is a smallish race.
What is your race day routine?
I use the facilities! As soon as I wake up, I am not leaving the
house until I have done my business. I
am NOT ending up on the internet with poo running down my leg! (My biggest nightmare!) Then I make sure to have a Luna bar about 1
hour before running and then a Vega Pre Workout energizer about 20 minutes
before. Then during the run, I carry
Nuun in my Nathan Speedbelt and Clif Shot Bloks in Margarita flavor!
What is your most favorite piece of running gear?
This is like asking me to pick my
favorite kid! Hmm…I love my North Face
Eat my Dust skirt but I also love my Headsweats visors. Oh and my Hoka shoes…see? How can I pick?
Do you follow any diet or take any specific supplements that complement
your running?
I should be on a more Paleo friendly
diet but I love my carbs! I do take Vega
Pre and Post workout supplements to reduce the soreness!
What do you wish you’d known when you first started running?
That there would be bad days and good
days. Even if you steadily get better,
you will still have days that make you question why you stuck with it. But if you don’t quit, a good day is peeking
around the corner!
What is your fondest running memory?
Crossing the Finish Line at the
Carlsbad Half marathon. Because really,
before I started running, I thought only super humans could run 13.1 miles
STRAIGHT!
What is one thing that most people do not know about you?
I was a long jumper and triple jumper
in high school but I HATED to run!
I am a big champion for Epilepsy Research and Awareness and fundraise for the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County!
