I hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful Mother's Day! I know I did! We went to my sister-in-law's house on Saturday night and spent the night there. So I woke up with extended family and that was so nice! I started my day with a 2 mile run...the best way to start your day!
After my run I was treated to a yummy breakfast of eggs and bacon that my brother-in-law had cooked! He even made my plate for me...so sweet! And then came a gift from my sister-in-law and brother-in-law! An Auburn necklace and Auburn hair tie!
After showering from my run I spent the rest of the morning watching my boys have a blast in the little kiddie pool (that was actually the dog's pool lol)!
Then my in-laws got there and the grilling began! We had a very yummy lunch consisting of grilled chicken, venison wrapped in bacon, turkey burgers, salad, fresh corn on the cob, and cheesy potatoes. It was all delicious!
After lunch we went for a walk to pick blackberries! My boys had so much fun doing this! The first berry they picked they looked down at their fingers and saw berry juice and thought they were bleeding! I reassured them they weren't and they kept on picking! It was fun having the entire family picking blackberries! And we found a TON!!!
So of course the chefs in the family (my sister-in-law and mother-in-law...not me lol) starting planning the yummy dessert to make using the blackberries! They decided on a blackberry cobbler!
And here is the finished product!
There were even enough berries left over to make jelly. My sister-in-law promised to share once the jelly was made! ;-)
And of course my day wouldn't have been complete without a family picture!
It was a great day relaxing with family! I wouldn't have wanted my Mother's Day to be any other way!
QOTD: What did you do for Mother's Day?
