The Color Run is coming to Mobile, AL on October 12th and I am ready to run it again!!! It will work out perfectly in my training schedule as this is the weekend before one of my half marathons and I will tapering.
So for those of you who have never experienced all of this happy, colorful goodness...here's a few details on what The Color Run is all about!
- The Color Run is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back. It is an untimed 5K race where runners are doused with a different color of powdered paint at each kilometer. It finishes at the finish line with a gigantic "Finish Festival" of more powdered color and is sure to be the best post-race party you've ever experienced!
- There are only 2 rules:
- Wear white at the starting line
- Finish plastered in color.
The Color Run is happening in many different locations! Check to see if there is one near you. If so...you don't want to miss out so sign up soon! This race will sell out quickly! I mean who wants to miss out on all this color fun??? Not me!
The best part...The Color Run is for everyone! You don't have to be a serious runner to participate! You don't even have to run. A lot of people take their time so they can experience as much color fun as possible! You can run through the course or walk the course with your friends and family. All ages are welcome to join in the color fun!
You can even sign up as "Color Team" of 4 people or more and save $5 off the registration fee. How does a “Color Team” work compared with a solo runner? Pretty simple, you register as a (4 minimum/infinity max) unit rather than as an individual. You get to pick a groovy custom team name, anything from The Roy G Biv All-stars to We Sweat Rainbows. You then get to run/walk together and “help” each other get really colored up over the 5 color kilometers. There is no “relay” component and team members can finish together as a unit or separately.
